Pinterest in Socie: what works today
Socie's connection wizard lists Pinterest but cannot publish to it yet. This explains exactly what that means for your workflow and what you can still do with Pinterest on your content calendar.
1 Why there is no setup walkthrough yet
When you open Socie's connection wizard, you will notice that Pinterest does not present a step-by-step setup guide like other platforms. Instead, the wizard leads with a notice explaining the gap, because Socie cannot publish to Pinterest yet. Pinterest is one of three platforms currently in this state, which is why the interface prioritizes transparency over a broken configuration flow.
2 What's blocking Pinterest specifically
Socie cannot publish to Pinterest yet. Pinterest's API documentation for pin creation sits behind a login, so that endpoint has not been verified against it, and an adapter written from memory is exactly how a scheduled post would silently fail. You can still plan Pinterest content on the calendar.
3 The underlying connection mechanism does exist, but is unverified
Pinterest does have a real OAuth descriptor in Socie's code, with scopes for writing pins and reading boards. However, it is marked unverified against Pinterest's own current documentation, and no setup steps are attached to it while publishing is blocked. This means the technical foundation exists, but it is not yet wired into the user-facing connection flow.
4 A second Pinterest credential path exists in the code, also not reachable yet
Separately from Socie's own connect wizard, this codebase also has a standalone Pinterest API client that expects a deployment-wide access token rather than a per-workspace OAuth connection. Nothing in the product currently calls it either, so it is not a way to connect Pinterest today. It is mentioned here only so it is not mistaken for a working shortcut.
5 What you can do with Pinterest today
You can still plan Pinterest content on Socie's content calendar and drafting tools. What is unavailable is the final publish step and the account connection that step depends on, through either mechanism described above. Your scheduled items will remain in a drafted or planned state until publishing support is added.
