Fair Use
Fair Use Policy
Effective 30 August 2026. This policy forms part of the Terms & Conditions. Most of it exists to protect your WhatsApp number, not ours.
Here is the thing worth understanding before the rules: the most expensive consequence of breaking them is not that Automix suspends you. It is that Meta bans your WhatsApp Business number. That number is registered to your business, the ban lands on your account, and we have no ability to appeal or reverse it. Rebuilding from a banned number is painful and sometimes impossible.
So read the consent section as commercial self-defence rather than compliance paperwork. The businesses that lose their numbers almost always lose them the same way: they messaged people who had not asked to hear from them, enough of those people pressed “Report”, and Meta acted on the quality signal.
Consent
Only message people who agreed to hear from you
This is the rule everything else rests on. You need a lawful basis to contact every person you message through Automix, and you must be able to show what it was.
What is not consent: a purchased list. A scraped list. A list of everyone who ever called your shop. Numbers collected for one purpose and used for a different one. A pre-ticked box. Somebody else's opt-in that you acquired with a business.
What Automix does to help. The platform records consent per contact and per message category, keeps an append-only history with the evidence you captured, and blocks a send where consent is missing — including where there is simply no record at all, because silence is not permission. That check runs again at the moment of sending, so a consent withdrawn mid-campaign takes effect immediately rather than at the next campaign.
What Automix does and does not do for you, stated plainly because assuming otherwise is how numbers get reported:
- Replying “STOP” opts someone out automatically. Every workspace gets a built-in rule that treats an inbound STOP or unsubscribe keyword as an opt-out, switched on, without you configuring anything. It applies from the first message a workspace receives, and it writes the same consent record an email unsubscribe does — so opting out of one channel stops the other.
This page previously told you to enable that rule yourself, because until 30 August 2026 it genuinely was not switched on for anyone. It is now. Automatic opt-out is a floor, not a substitute for judgement: someone who says “take me off this” in their own words has opted out just as firmly, and no keyword rule will catch that. - Imported contacts arrive switched on. The master opt-in flag defaults to enabled on import, so the per-category consent record is what actually protects a contact. Import only people who genuinely agreed, and record what they agreed to.
Honour opt-outs immediately and permanently. Do not re-import someone who opted out, and do not treat a new list as a fresh start for them. An unsubscribe from your email also stops your WhatsApp messages to that person, because both write to the same record.
Content
What you may not send or process
You may not use Automix, on any channel, to send or process:
- unsolicited bulk messaging of any kind, however it is described internally;
- anything unlawful, or promoting anything unlawful, in India or in the recipient's country;
- deceptive commercial content — fake offers, false urgency about something that is not scarce, fabricated reviews or testimonials, invented endorsements, or claims about results you cannot substantiate;
- phishing, credential harvesting, malware, or anything that impersonates another business, a bank, a government body, or a real individual;
- harassment, threats, hate speech, or content that sexualises children;
- regulated categories you are not licensed to promote, and content barred by WhatsApp's own commerce and messaging policies;
- other people's personal data that you have no right to hold.
Be clear that it is automated. Do not present an AI reply as a message personally written by a named individual, and do not claim a human is reviewing something when nothing is. Telling customers they are talking to an assistant is both honest and, in our experience, better received than pretending.
The agents
What the specialists will not do
Four workspaces sit close to regulated professional work. Their limits are deliberate, they are not configuration options, and they are stated identically here and on the public site:
- Vakil provides legal information, not legal advice.
- Doctor organises health records and does not diagnose.
- Khata prepares bookkeeping for your accountant and does not certify accounts.
- Dena prepares banking information for human review.
Do not present output from any Automix workspace as professional advice, a diagnosis, a certified account, or a regulated financial recommendation. Every AI feature in the platform produces drafts and suggestions for a person to check. You remain responsible for what leaves your workspace.
Platform
Technical fair use
The service is shared infrastructure, so a few limits protect everyone on it:
- Rate limits apply to reads, writes and message sending through the API. They are set well above normal use; if you are hitting them, tell us what you are building rather than working around them.
- One account per business. Do not create multiple accounts to multiply trial periods or to get around a limit or a suspension.
- Do not resell or white-label access without a written agreement with us, and do not share one workspace across unrelated businesses.
- Do not attack the service — no load testing without asking, no scraping, no attempts to reach another customer's data, no probing for vulnerabilities without telling us first. Genuine security research reported in good faith is welcome; email vivek@automixai.in with “Security” in the subject and we will not pursue you.
- Keep credentials to yourself. API keys and connected accounts belong to your workspace. If one leaks, tell us and we will revoke it.
Enforcement
What happens if this policy is broken
We would far rather fix a problem than close an account, and in almost every case a conversation is the whole of it. Our normal order is:
- We tell you what we have seen and what needs to change, and give you a reasonable chance to change it.
- We limit the affected capability — usually sending — while it is sorted out, leaving the rest of your workspace working.
- We suspend the account if it is not resolved. Your data stays intact; suspension is not deletion.
- We terminate for a serious or repeated breach, under the Terms.
We will act immediately, without the earlier steps, where the law requires it or where continuing would cause real harm — messaging purchased lists at scale, phishing, or content that sexualises children. In those cases we will still tell you what happened and why.
Disagree with an action? Reply to the notice, or email vivek@automixai.in. A person reviews it, and if we got it wrong we reverse it and say so.
Separately from all of this: Meta may restrict or ban your number under its own policies at any time, including for reasons we never see. That is not an Automix enforcement action and we cannot reverse it.
Questions
Straight answers
Can I upload a list of numbers I bought?
No, and it is the fastest way to lose your WhatsApp number. Meta acts on user reports, and a purchased list generates them immediately. This breaks the Terms and it is the one rule we enforce without much patience, because the damage lands on you and is usually irreversible.
Does Automix stop me messaging someone who opted out?
Yes. A contact who opted out is blocked, and so is a contact with no consent record for that category — silence is not permission. The check runs again at the moment of sending, so a withdrawal takes effect immediately rather than at the next campaign.
If someone replies STOP, are they automatically unsubscribed?
Yes. Every workspace gets the inbound STOP rule switched on, with nothing to configure, and it applies from the first message you receive. It also covers "unsubscribe", and it writes the same consent record an email unsubscribe does, so the opt-out carries across channels. It does not read intent, though: someone asking to be removed in their own words has opted out just as firmly, and you still have to act on that yourself — ignoring it is what generates reports.
Are there message limits?
The platform applies rate limits on API requests, set well above normal use. Message volumes for your plan are in your written plan agreement. Meta separately applies its own quality-based limits to your number, which rise as your number builds a good sending history.
Will you suspend my account without warning?
Only where the law requires it or where continuing would cause real harm — phishing, mass unsolicited messaging, or content that sexualises children. Everything else starts with us telling you what needs to change and giving you a chance to change it.
